Hope everyone is doing well this week! I’m excited to share some important updates to Boombox that have just released, as well as some upcoming features we’re currently building. Let’s get right into it.
First up, you can now create a folder as an “inbox” for file requests. This feature is only available for Pro plans and higher.
Any time you create a new folder in your file system, you now have the option to turn that into an “inbox” to accept uploads from others against your storage space.
An account is not required to upload files to your inbox. That means you can share your inbox with other Boombox users, or generate a link to share at your discretion.
Uploaders will only be able to access the files they’ve contributed to your inbox. They will not be able to see files uploaded by others.
There’s more!
In addition to our “inbox” toggle, we’ve also introduced the ability to include a custom note when sharing a folder, playlist or your profile page with anybody via email.
Whether it’s an existing Boombox user, or someone new you’re inviting via email to the folder, you now have the ability to type in a custom note providing them with more context for what you’re sharing, and reassuring them that it is actually from you, and not some kind of phishing scam.
Finally, we’ve also added our “branded sharing” capabilities to playlists. That means your background image and photo from your Artist Profile will now be included as the default artwork on any playlist you share with others.
Check out how fancy this looks!
Hope you’re as psyched about these updates as we are! Wishing you the best of luck out there with your music and, as always, happy creating.
